THE BLAKEHAY THEATRE IS IDEAL FOR A RANGE OF LIVE EVENTS AND PERFORMANCES

The Blakehay Theatre has three venue spaces with the Main House, Studio Theatre and a small performance space in our Theatre Bar. Raked seating for up to 207 (Main House), dressing rooms and lighting and sound facilities. All performance bookings are priced based on the requirements of your event and include our Front of House, Marketing and Box Office Services, with the option to include technical support and extra marketing services.

We offer bookings for both day and evening hourly rates depending on your requirements. Public classes are very popular in our first floor studio. Our larger spaces also lend themselves perfectly to meetings and business networking and we are happy to discuss combinations of spaces to suit your event.

Main House Stage LitMain House

The Main House is a beautiful intimate performance space that can be hired from only £120.00 per hour (+vat) for performances.

It is a 207 fixed seat style with the stage at ground level.

The round cyc is white with black curtains with a second black curtain, and red stage tabs. The stage floor is black

There is access backstage through the stage door and small loading doors straight onto the stage from the outside lane at the side of the building. The seating is raked and each seat has a great view of the stage. The main house seating is accessed from the front of house via the foyer staircase or through our ground level access.

Hire of the main house for a performance also includes use of our four backstage dressing rooms, small green room, backstage toilets, two Juliette balconies and access to our technical box. Performance hire also includes a box office and marketing service, front of house staff and theatre bar open before the performance and for an interval. Operating technical staff available at an extra charge.

Our first floor Studio Theatre can be hired as a small performance venue or cinema.

The studio can seat up to a maximum of 100 people in different combinations of seating styles (dependant on configuration) and has a small raised stage with entrances on stage right. The Studio Theatre has technical equipment installed (please see our Hire Document for more information).

Hire of the studio theatre for a performance also includes access to, small green room, backstage toilets, access to technical equipment. Performance hire also includes a box office & marketing service, front of house staff and theatre bar open before the performance and for an interval. Technical staff available at an extra charge.

If you are looking to hire for a film screening, this venue is licenced to show Film Bank performances, please do speak to us at the time of booking. Please note that this is on the first floor and there is no disabled access to the Studio Theatre.

Studios 1 and 2, not separatedStudio

Our studio can be hired as a large space or can also be divided into our Studio 1 & Studio 2 spaces.

The studio spaces are available to hire for public classes, meetings, rehearsals or as extra dressing rooms and have direct access to the front of house and backstage.

Fully ventilated and with a beautiful multi-purpose floor and light and airy windows. Our studios also have dimmable lighting and moveable full length mirrors available to use and a small portable sound system (ideal for classes).

Studio 1 is the largest of the two areas available and this has beautiful views over Grove Park. It is ideally situated as a studio for classes or as a rehearsal space. The room can also be set up for meetings, talks or for training sessions, and has a maximum capacity of 60 people.

Studio 2 is a smaller, more intimate space, but has access to the Studio Theatre stage making this studio feel larger. Studio 2 is ideal as a meeting space or as a training place for a small amount of people and has a capacity of 40 people.

Studio Classes

We have public classes held in the Studio. Including Duty management, use of the space for a full hour, with a 15 minute turnaround time between classes included and access to front of house toilets and a free refillable water machine and all for only £16.50 per hour (+vat). Situated on the ground floor of our foyer and fully accessible to all patrons, the Theatre Bar is the perfect place to unwind with a drink before a show and offers a welcoming and comfortable meeting place.

It can accommodate a maximum of 45 people (dependant on layout) and can be used for meetings, parties, training, talks and has the added benefit of access to a small private courtyard.

It is an intimate space that offers a relaxed small performing space or an intimate evening. The bar operates as a bottle bar with a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks available at a competitive price with many of our drinks offered being from locally sourced producers.

(Our fully licenced bar is open for all public performances, therefore it is not possible to hire separately during a performance.)
